The Nick Finzer Quintet Nick Finzer’s Quintet is a trombone driven group that combines the rich traditions of jazz, with the repertoire of the American Songbook and the music of contemporary jazz artists such as Michael Brecker, Chick Corea and Joe Locke. Not to mention a healthy handful of original compositions. The ensemble takes strong influence from the musical styles and band sounds of a number of non-trombone led groups, including groups led by Michael Brecker, Chris Potter, Dave Holland, Chick Corea and Pat Metheney fusing sometimes intricate contrapuntal writing with musical melodies and also strong improvisational contributions from each member of the band. This group is focused on creating improvised music that builds on the tradition of jazz, and presents Nick’s modern twist on a trombone led group. The Po Boys Brass Band The Dave Rivello Ensemble
